About Techpackz

Techpackz is a free tech pack maker for new fashion brands and independent designers. It walks you through every section a factory needs, points out what is missing and exports a PDF you can send straight to your manufacturer.

Who writes the guides

The guides and the built-in defaults are written by Hung Tran, the founder of Techpackz. Hung has worked in garment manufacturing for more than 15 years, preparing tech packs, approving samples and running bulk orders with factories in Vietnam for brands around the world.

Most of what goes wrong in a first production run starts with a tech pack that leaves the factory guessing: a colour described in words, a measurement with no tolerance, a print placed "on the chest". Techpackz exists so new brands can avoid those mistakes without buying design software or hiring a technical designer.

How the guides are written

  • Guides combine Hung's own production experience (what factories ask about, what causes extra sample rounds, what gets rejected at inspection) with information gathered from several sources, including industry references and AI tools used for research and drafting.
  • Hung reviews and edits every guide against how factories really work before it is published.
  • Numbers such as GSM ranges, tolerances and minimum order quantities are typical values, not promises. Your factory's own standards always win; agree them in writing.
  • Rules set by governments (care labels, fibre content, country of origin) link to the official source.
  • Each guide shows the date it was last checked and is updated when things change.
