Tech pack software
Tech pack software that starts free and works in your browser
Pick a garment, fill in what is yours, grade the sizes, run the factory pre-flight check and export a PDF. No account, no trial clock, no sales call. Built by a garment manufacturing team that has read thousands of tech packs.

How it works, in about 20 minutes
- Step 1
Pick a garment
T-shirt, hoodie, polo, pants, shorts, shirt, sweatshirt, bomber, dress or skirt. Each comes with measurements, tolerances and materials a factory expects.
- Step 2
Fill in what is yours
Fabric and GSM, Pantone colours, trims, artwork placement, labels. Plain-English hints explain what the factory does with each field.
- Step 3
Grade the sizes
Enter the base size; the other sizes are calculated with standard grade rules you can edit.
- Step 4
Run the pre-flight check
The check flags what a factory will ask about before you send: a missing tolerance, a colour named in words, a print with no placement.
- Step 5
Send it
Export a PDF or share a link. The link shows when the factory opened it, and the PDF cover links to the online version.
Spreadsheet, Techpackz or a per-seat PLM?
Most small brands start in Excel, and most PLMs are priced per user for teams. Techpackz sits in between: a free maker for the first tech packs, and a $39 PLM when you need sample rounds and a team. Questions people ask before they try it
- What is tech pack software?
- Software that produces the document a factory needs to quote, sample and make a garment: technical sketches, a measurement spec graded by size, a bill of materials, construction notes, artwork placement, labels and packing. Tech pack software ranges from free makers like Techpackz to product lifecycle management (PLM) systems that also track samples, approvals and costing for a whole team.
- Is Techpackz really free, or is it a trial?
- The tech pack maker is free with no account, no time limit and no limit on the number of tech packs or PDFs. The paid product is a separate PLM workspace for teams that track samples and factories; you only see it if you look for it.
- Can I make a tech pack without knowing how to draw?
- Yes. Every garment template comes with front and back flat sketches that you recolour and annotate. If you have your own drawings, upload them instead.
- Does the factory need an account to open my tech pack?
- No. The factory opens the PDF or the share link in any browser. You can see how many times the link was opened and revoke it.
- How is this different from a free Excel tech pack template?
- A template gives you a layout; it does not grade sizes, draw flats, check what is missing or tell you when the factory opened it. Techpackz does those four things and still exports a document the factory reads the same way.
- Can I use it with my own factory's format?
- The PDF follows the order factories ask for: sketches, spec, BOM, construction, artwork, labels, packing. If your factory requires their own spreadsheet, keep Techpackz as the source and copy the graded spec into their file.
- What happens when my brand grows?
- Tech packs made in the free maker import into Techpackz PLM in one click. The PLM adds styles with versions, sample rounds with photos and measurements, BOM libraries, a time and action calendar and costing, for $39 per month for one person or $99 per month for a team of five with factories as free guests.
- Is my design safe?
- Your tech pack stays in your own browser until you choose to share it or save it to a free account. Nothing is uploaded in the background, and no tech pack content is sent to analytics.
