What a factory needs for a shorts
Inseam
State the inseam in cm or inches for the base size; it often stays the same across sizes.
Waist
Fixed waistband with fly, or elastic with drawcord. For elastic, give relaxed and stretched waist.
Leg opening
Leg opening and hem finish (turned-up, cuffed, raw).
Pockets
Front, back and any cargo pockets, with sizes and placement.

Starting values for size M in centimetres, measured flat. The grade is the change per size; the editor fills in every size for you. Replace them with your own fit.

Common mistakes
- Only giving outseam, so the inseam varies between sizes.
- Elastic waist without a stretched measurement.

- Can I use it for sweat shorts?
- Yes. Change the main fabric to fleece or French terry and the waist to elastic with a drawcord.
