Free T-shirt tech pack template
A T-shirt looks simple, which is exactly why small details cause the most sampling rounds: neck rib width, shoulder tape, how the hem is finished. This template starts you with the measurements and materials a factory asks for first, so you only fill in your own numbers.

What a factory needs for a t-shirt
Fabric weight and composition
State the GSM after washing and the exact blend, e.g. 190 GSM 100% cotton single jersey. A 20 GSM difference changes the drape and the price.
Neck finish
Rib width (usually 1.8–2.2 cm), rib type and whether the back neck is taped. Neck width and drops decide how the collar sits.
Body and sleeve measurements
Body length from the high point shoulder, chest 2.5 cm below the armhole, sleeve length and opening, all graded per size.
Stitching
Coverstitch hems with a stated width (2–2.5 cm), overlocked side seams, and stitches per inch.
Print or embroidery placement
Distance from the high point shoulder or centre front, artwork size per size range, and the print method.

Starting values for size M in centimetres, measured flat. The grade is the change per size; the editor fills in every size for you. Replace them with your own fit.

Common mistakes
- Giving full chest instead of half chest (laid flat). Say which one you mean.
- Leaving out tolerances, so a 2 cm longer body still passes inspection.
- Not stating the GSM after washing, which is what the customer feels.
Questions
- How many measurements does a T-shirt tech pack need?
- Eleven points cover a standard tee: body length, chest, shoulder, sleeve length and opening, bottom opening, neck width, front and back neck drop, armhole and bicep. Add more for details like a pocket or side vents.
- Can I change the sizes?
- Yes. Pick your size range in the first step; the template grades every point from your base size, and you can change any number later.
