Free hoodie tech pack template

Hoodies have more parts than any other basic: a lined or single hood, a kangaroo pocket, rib cuffs and hem, a drawcord and eyelets. This template lists each one with a measurement or a trim line, so nothing is left for the factory to decide.

What a factory needs for a hoodie

Fleece weight and finish

GSM (320–400 for most streetwear), brushed or unbrushed back, and composition.

Hood

Single or double layer, hood height and width, drawcord type and length, eyelet size and finish.

Kangaroo pocket

Pocket width at top and bottom, height, position from the hem and how the edges are finished.

Rib

Rib height at cuffs and hem, rib type and stretch. Relaxed and extended cuff width both matter.

Common mistakes

  • Only giving the sleeve length, not the cuff rib height, so sleeves come out too long.
  • No drawcord length, so it hangs to the waist on some sizes.
  • Forgetting that heavy fleece shrinks: ask for measurements after washing.

Questions

What GSM should a hoodie be?
Around 280–320 GSM for a light hoodie, 350–400 GSM for a heavyweight streetwear hoodie.
Does the template include the hood?
Yes: hood height and width, a drawcord and eyelets are already in the measurements and bill of materials.
